Turbocharger solenoid valve control circuit range/performance problem
• The following conditions are met, the difference between the target regulating valve opening angle and the actual regulating valve opening angle is 2 mm {0.08 in} or more for a continuous 3 s:
― Engine speed: above 700 rpm
― Vehicle speed: 2 km/h {1 mph} or more
― Turbocharger solenoid valve control duty value: 55% or more
― Actuator position sensor (turbocharger with variable turbine geometry): normal
― HP-EGR control valve: Fully closed
― Diesel particulate filter regeneration control is not performed
• The following conditions are met, the difference between the target regulating valve opening angle and the actual regulating valve opening angle is −6.2 mm {−0.25 in} or less for a continuous 3 s:
― Engine speed: above 700 rpm
― Vehicle speed: 2 km/h {1 mph} or more
― Turbocharger solenoid valve control duty value: 20% or less
― Actuator position sensor (turbocharger with variable turbine geometry): normal
― HP-EGR control valve: Fully closed
― Diesel particulate filter regeneration control is not performed

PID/DATA Monitor Inspection Note
• The actuator position sensor of the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry is built into the turbocharger actuator. turbocharger actuator is built into the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. When replacing the actuator position sensor of the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry, replace the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry itself.
1.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
2.Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
3.Access the PID/DATA monitor item VGTURB_ACT and simulation item VGTURB_DSD using the M-MDS.
4.Verify that the VGTURB_ACT monitor value conforms to the VGTURB_DSD monitor value when the simulation item VGTURB_DSD is set from 0 % to 90 %.
• If not as verified, replace the turbocharger with variable turbine geometry.
